This is Augustine's Platform!
Augustine has spent nearly a decade of his life working in rural spaces and organizing people to make a real impact. That is why our platform (the people's platform) is so important to moving the needle for our communities.
The Basics
These are the three major areas of my platform!
Engaging Rural & Dirt Road Democrats
As a life-long rural New Mexican and former candidate I understand the need for the Democratic Party to take rural New Mexico seriously. Since my debut into New Mexico politics I have been adimant that we cannot concede our rural communities.
Providing Resources to County Parties
As a former County Party Chair, I know that our County Parties need a boost. DPNM must work to raise necessary funds and build the infrastructure needed to furnish our County Parties with the resources we need to succeed! Our Counties work hard lets make their jobs easier.
Coordinating Our Caucuses
As the former Chair, Secretary and Rural Representative to many Caucuses I know how impactful engagement from DPNM could be. I am dedicated to working with the Chair to coordinate our efforts and maximize our impact.
Identifying Systems
I am committed to developing systems that aid our party in coordinating our actions and ensuring that we have clear and transparent communication with our partners, communities and fellow Democrats. By re-assessing the current systems we are using to coordinate between the DPNM, County Parties, Caucuses, and other partners, we will better understand how we can economize and expand our efforts. This will additionally outline where we must invest in quality infrastructure that increases turnout and expands the reach of our Democratic Party message.
Recognizing Patterns
Through my work within the government and campaigns, I have been afforded the experience to identify when patterns develop that decrease productivity. I am committed to using these same skills to identify patterns within our party that have slowed our progress in organizing within both urban and rural spaces. By identifying the patterns that slow our progress, we can develop real solutions that are flexible and sustainable.
Despite my focus on patterns that may slow progress, there is also value in identifing patterns that support growth. As a result, I am dedicated to also identifying patterns within our party that help us grow and expanding upon these patterns as well.
Filling Gaps
After going through the process of identifying systems and patterns within the Democratic Party of New Mexico that may not be visible to all Democrats, we can then single out the gaps that exist within the structure. Once we then identify these gaps we can implement the next portion of our platform.
Investing in quality infrastructure and training
Only after we identify where we are missing the mark, specific to each community, can we then identify the areas that require investment.

Quality Infrastructure
As someone who has worked in both the public sector and at the local level of government, I understand that infrastructure is not one standard thing. Infrastructure can take the form of technology, brick and mortar materials and even paper materials. In short, the definition of infrastructure is "the underlying foundation or basic framework" which includes all of the aforementioned assets. It is because of this broad application that we must first go through the process of identifying the systems, patterns and gaps that exist within our party, specific to each community, to then invest in quality infrastructure.
After we undergo this process, however, we will then find ourselves poised to invest in infrastructure that will carry our party further and faster than before.
Training
In serving throughout the party structure, I am deeply aware that there is a lack of training for incoming leaders. Now this function has been delegated to the respective organizations to undertake. However, I am of the opinion that: if we as the Democratic Party of New Mexico are going to take the time to invest in expanding our infrastructure we must also train our County Party teams, Caucus leadership and all partners on how to leverage these tools. Lastly, I am also committed to ensuring that when a new County Party Chair takes over in an area where this infrastructure does not exist that we offer this critical training to ensure that they are set up for success.
How are we going to pay for this?
'Augustine has raised money for causes like this before.'
Augustine's Run For Public Office
When I ran for the New Mexico House of Representatives in NM House District 22, I was written off as a long shot. The reason this detail is important is that raising money through this stigma was very difficult. However, despite having been faced with an uphill battle our campaign raised a total of $49,729.19

Augustine As LGBTQIA+ Caucus Chair
While serving as Chair of the LGBTQIA+ Caucus of the Democratic Party of New Mexico, the team and I worked to raise a total of $14,798.64. This was a major feat as the Caucus was in the process of being reorganized and building a presence within the state. What this reflects is Augustine's ability to reach out to grassroots donors who can help sustain our party while also bringing together larger donors to help stabilize the overall budget.

Other Fundraising
Throughout my time with the Torrance County Democratic Party, my campaign for the Torrance County Commission and my efforts to support various candidates and non-profits, I have also raised an estimated $25,000.
$25,000
Total Raised: $89,527.83
Though we will certainly need to raise a significant amount more than this to fund our efforts, I am confident that I can assist the Chair in raising the needed funds to run our party. I am also confident that this is an example of the abilities I have to raise necessary funds to achieve our goals.
